On a planet rife with jumbo jets and futuristic technology, when travel and interactions take place cursorily and instantaneously, rail travel has something extraordinary to offer the traveller. As the miles go by, passengers can feel that for which is lacking in our demanding modern lives: unhurried moments in time which encourage reflection and pleasant new experiences.
For over a century, discriminating travellers have discovered the best of Canada onboard our trains. The multiplicity and wild splendor of the Canadian landscape is encountered in every season: the rough Canadian West wrapped in winter's white mantle, the sophisticated urban centers of Ontario and Québec blooming with summer celebrations, the pictorial seascapes of the Atlantic regions clad in their autumn colours.
The second largest country in the world, Canada spans an enormous 9,984,670 square kilometres. But in spite of its magnitude, Canada has a population of only about 32 million people -- fewer than the 35 million people living in the state of California!
Without a doubt, the best way to see this country is by train.
Come north and enjoy restful travel, outstanding service and welcoming air aboard Canada's holiday trains. Close to nature but safe and serene, any time of the year. You can be a part of it all.

The following morning the train splits with half going to Jasper while the other half of the train continues to Banff and Calgary.
