Why Every Business SHOULD Be Marketing On Linkedin

With over 390 Million members, and an average income of $120000 American, Linkedin has a ton of lead potential that is sorely underutilized. Linkedin has become the social network for businesses and job hunting, for the fact that it is designed and focused on connecting people to getting hired or doing business, rather than a hod podge of information being shared, like on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks.

Did you know much of the Fortune 500 and their senior leadership are Linkedin users? Every second, 13 new users sign up for an account. On Facebook, statistics say only about 1% of their users who engage a brand make a purchase as per this study. How much higher could the buying power be of a much more affluent market? This post will list the ways Linkedin can help your business increase leads, sales, and build the power of your brand.
Here are the reasons why every business SHOULD be marketing on Linkedin.

Why Every Business SHOULD Be Marketing On Linkedin

1. Lead Generation Opportunities

To generate leads on Linkedin, the best tactics involve a keyword rich profile within your niche, as well as actively prospecting or outsourcing prospecting of members of your network. These members of your network that you want to find, are ones that could potentially be interested in your product or service. The key is to be conversational and not jump immediately into your offering.

2. Increased Sales

These will result from your lead generation efforts, as well as activity in Linkedin groups when you put yourself out there. Like most social media marketing on other social networks, it increases your positioning as an authority on Linkedin.

3. More Business Partnerships

Increased accessibility and positioning will likely lead to more opportunities. These opportunities could be affiliate marketing, collaborations, or to being hired for work.

4. Increased Brand Awareness

Aside from being able to create a robust profile, Linkedin has many business oriented groups. In participating in a group on Linkedin, you get increased brand exposure from being active about curating and sharing content on Linkedin.
A common question I get is: How do these actions lead to more leads, sales, and a stronger brand? The answer is: It depends. You can use your Linkedin company profile as a place to refer people, and send them to your website, or you can directly engage prospects from your profile directly.
As you can see there are numerous benefits to using your Linkedin account as part of your digital marketing mix, and not just another social account.

How to Do SEO for BlogSpot Blogs

Two famous ways for blogging and one is BlogSpot and another is WordPress. BlogSpot is for the beginners and WordPress is for the advance bloggers. Search Engine Optimization is must to rank your keywords and increase traffic for your website. What SEO do is to rank your keywords on Google and it works when someone searches with the keyword. Google SEO algorithm follows about 60-70 percent for On Page SEO that means on site SEO.

Optimize Post Title In BlogSpot:

Here I am talking about the page title for each article which you can see alongside favicon on the browser tab. Normally it shows like “Blogging Tips: How to Add Favicon on BlogSpot” something like this and this is not SEO friendly at all. It will be good if it only shows the page title and it is possible. To do that, you have to go to Template and then Edit HTML. Find the code “<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>” and then replace the code above “<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == “item”‘>
<title><data:blog.pageName/> |<data:blog.title/></title>
<b:else/>
<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title> </b:if>”
Now save template and its done.
Custom Permalink:
You can change your permalink structure by yourself. Good permalink structure is using (-). Example: Page-Title-For-Your-Article. There will be two options. One is to automatically generate your permalink structure and another is to create custom permalink. You can edit your permalink by clicking “Custom Permalink” option.

Adding Site Description:
Your website description is must for good SEO. You can setup your site Meta description by going settings and then click “search preferences”. Under “Meta Tag” you will find description that is by default disabled. Click on “edit” and then select “yes”. Then type your desired Meta description including your keyword. Done……….
Now you can add Meta description for each article. You can find it at right side under “search description” when composing your article.
Custom Robots.txt Setup:
This is very important for your site. This will help your site index. So you need to setup a rule that how the Google bot is going to index in proper way. If you do any fault with this then it will harm your site. You have to type some text like below:
User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
Disallow:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /search
Allow: /
You can find description of this code on Google search and then try your own text. You have to go to settings and then search preferences. Under “crawler and indexing” you will find an option “Custom robots.txt”. Click on “Edit” and then select “yes”, now you paste the text rules for the Google bot.
Sitemap:
It’s very important to generate a sitemap for your site. Sitemap helps Google bot to crawl isolated pages from your website. Its vey useful and must have for every website.
Image Optimization:
Image search plays very important role to increase your website visitor and revenue. Proper image optimization helps a lot. Proper use of alt text in image using keywords with appropriate rules makes your site SEO friendly.
  • Name of the image should be “your-image-name-with-keyword-variation.jpg”
  • Do not do keyword stuffing
  • Use long tail keywords for image name and alt text.
  • Use different but similar keywords in alt text for more than one image in single article.
Some Drawback of BlogSpot in terms of SEO: Here is the problem with BlogSpot and that is BlogSpot is not SEO friendly as WordPress. Some are below:
You Will Have Permalink Structure Problem:
Permalink structure is not SEO friendly. There will be a format like yourwebsite.com/year/month/page-title, which is not SEO friendly at all. Google I guess may not solve this problem in future.
Page Title And Meta Title Will Have To Be The Same:
Your page title and Meta title will be same. It will be good if the page title and Meta title is different. There is no solution until now and hopefully Google will solve it in future.
There Will Be No Subcategory:
You can only create Label/category but you cannot create subcategory under a Label/Category. This is a major issue and it will hurt your sites navigation problem and decrease your page views. I did not find any solution for this that I can share with you.
Image Uploading Problem:
If you upload an image then it will not saved as your website address
Uploading image is must but in BlogSpot if you upload an image, it will be saved in another Google website. This is another major issue, which is not SEO friendly. You can solve this problem by uploading your image in github under your subdomain and then add it to your BlogSpot to make it SEO friendly.
BlogSpot is appropriate platform for the one who is entry-level blogger. It will help them almost many things to do blogging and earn with that. Google have plans for this platform with good features in future. Its free, uses Google cloud, which is safe from hackers. Google products like Google plus, Google Page Speed and others are usable in this platform.

WordPress SEO by Yoast

WordPress out of the box is already technically quite a good platform for SEO, this was true when I wrote my original WordPress SEO article in 2008 and it's still true today, but that doesn't mean you can't improve it further! This plugin is written from the ground up by WordPress SEO consultant and WordPress developer Joost de Valk to improve your site's SEO on all needed aspects. While this WordPress SEO plugin goes the extra mile to take care of all the technical optimization, more on that below, it first and foremost helps you write better content. WordPress SEO forces you to choose a focus keyword when you're writing your articles, and then makes sure you use that focus keyword everywhere.

Write better content with WordPress SEO

Using the snippet preview you can see a rendering of what your post or page will look like in the search results, whether your title is too long or too short and your meta description makes sense in the context of a search result. This way the plugin will help you not only increase rankings but also increase the click through for organic search results.

Page Analysis

The WordPress SEO plugins Linkdex Page Analysis functionality checks simple things you're bound to forget. It checks, for instance, if you have images in your post and whether they have an alt tag containing the focus keyword for that post. It also checks whether your posts are long enough, if you've written a meta description and if that meta description contains your focus keyword, if you've used any subheadings within your post, etc. etc.
The plugin also allows you to write meta titles and descriptions for all your category, tag and custom taxonomy archives, giving you the option to further optimize those pages.
Combined, this plugin makes sure that your content is the type of content search engines will love!

Technical WordPress Search Engine Optimization

While out of the box WordPress is pretty good for SEO, it needs some tweaks here and there. This WordPress SEO plugin guides you through some of the settings needed, for instance by reminding you to enable pretty permalinks. But it also goes beyond that, by automatically optimizing and inserting the meta tags and link elements that Google and other search engines like so much:

Meta & Link Elements

With the WordPress SEO plugin you can control which pages Google shows in its search results and which pages it doesn't show. By default, it will tell search engines to index all of your pages, including category and tag archives, but only show the first pages in the search results. It's not very useful for a user to end up on the third page of your "personal" category, right?
WordPress itself only shows canonical link elements on single pages, WordPress SEO makes it output canonical link elements everywhere. Google has recently announced they would also use rel="next" and rel="prev" link elements in the head section of your paginated archives, this plugin adds those automatically, see [this post](http://yoast.com/rel-next-prev-paginated-archives/ title="rel=next & rel=prev for paginated archives") for more info.

XML Sitemaps

WordPress SEO has the most advanced XML Sitemaps functionality in any WordPress plugin. Once you check the box, it automatically creates XML sitemaps and notifies Google & Bing of the sitemaps existence. These XML sitemaps include the images in your posts & pages too, so that your images may be found better in the search engines too.
These XML Sitemaps will even work on large sites, because of how they're created, using one index sitemap that links to sub-sitemaps for each 1,000 posts. They will also work with custom post types and custom taxonomies automatically, while giving you the option to remove those from the XML sitemap should you wish to.
Because of using XSL stylesheets for these XML Sitemaps, the XML sitemaps are easily readable for the human eye too, so you can spot things that shouldn't be in there.

RSS Optimization

Are you being outranked by scrapers? Instead of cursing at them, use them to your advantage! By automatically adding a link to your RSS feed pointing back to the original article, you're telling the search engine where they should be looking for the original. This way, the WordPress SEO plugin increases your own chance of ranking for your chosen keywords and gets rid of scrapers in one go!

Breadcrumbs

If your theme is compatible, and themes based on Genesis or by WooThemes for instance often are, you can use the built-in Breadcrumbs functionality. This allows you to create an easy navigation that is great for both users and search engines and will support the search engines in understanding the structure of your site.
Making your theme compatible isn't hard either, check these instructions.

Edit your .htaccess and robots.txt file

Using the built-in file editor you can edit your WordPress blogs .htaccess and robots.txt file, giving you direct access to the two most powerful files, from an SEO perspective, in your WordPress install.

Social Integration

SEO and Social Media are heavily intertwined, that's why this plugin also comes with a Facebook OpenGraph implementation and will soon also support Google+ sharing tags.

Multi-Site Compatible

This WordPress SEO plugin, unlike some others, is fully Multi-Site compatible. The XML Sitemaps work fine in all setups and you even have the option, in the Network settings, to copy the settings from one blog to another, or make blogs default to the settings for a specific blog.

Import & Export functionality

If you have multiple blogs, setting up plugins like this one on all of them might seem like a daunting task. Except that it's not, because what you can do is simple: you set up the plugin once. You then export your settings and simply import them on all your other sites. It's that simple!

Import functionality for other WordPress SEO plugins

If you've used All In One SEO Pack or HeadSpace2 before using this plugin, you might want to import all your old titles and descriptions. You can do that easily using the built-in import functionality. There's also import functionality for some of the older Yoast plugins like Robots Meta and RSS footer.
Should you have a need to import from another SEO plugin or from a theme like Genesis or Thesis, you can use the SEO Data Transporter plugin, that'll easily convert your SEO meta data from and to a whole set of plugins like Platinum SEO, SEO Ultimate, Greg's High Performance SEO and themes like Headway, Hybrid, WooFramework, Catalyst etc.
Read this migration guide if you still have questions about migrating from another SEO plugin to WordPress SEO.

How to get more visitors to your site

Hello from Google.

As a Google Analytics customer, you've shown that you really care about attracting high-quality visitors to your website. Now I'd like to suggest a way for you to bring in even more customers.

Your current customers most likely search for your business by name (e.g. "Anna's bakery"). But prospective customers tend to search by topic and city, such as "Restaurants in New York" or "Florist in San Francisco". With an ad on Google, you can make it easy for people to find you using the words they choose.

Getting started is easy.

To help you find more customers, we'll give you $100 in free Google ads when you spend your first $25. For many businesses, that free $100 is enough for an extra 1 month of advertising. You control your budget, and can stop or change your ads at any time.

Try an ad on Google and see if more customers find you. To redeem this offer go to google.com/ads/analytics or call
1-800-903-0274 before June 30, 2013. Please use this offer code: 9QCRJ-YXYWY-66DK. (Offer valid for new customers only.)

Thanks for your partnership with Google.

Best wishes,

Search engine optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The plural of the abbreviation SEO can also refer to "search engine optimizers," those who provide SEO services.

Webmasters and content providers began optimizing sites for search engines in the mid-1990s, as the first search engines were cataloging the early Web. Initially, all webmasters needed to do was to submit the address of a page, or URL, to the various engines which would send a "spider" to "crawl" that page, extract links to other pages from it, and return information found on the page to be indexed The process involves a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine's own server, where a second program, known as an indexer, extracts various information about the page, such as the words it contains and where these are located, as well as any weight for specific words, and all links the page contains, which are then placed into a scheduler for crawling at a later date.

Site owners started to recognize the value of having their sites highly ranked and visible in search engine results, creating an opportunity for both white hat and black hat SEO practitioners. According to industry analyst Danny Sullivan, the phrase "search engine optimization" probably came into use in 1997. The first documented use of the term Search Engine Optimization was John Audette and his company Multimedia Marketing Group as documented by a web page from the MMG site from August, 1997.

Early versions of search algorithms relied on webmaster-provided information such as the keyword meta tag, or index files in engines like ALIWEB. Meta tags provide a guide to each page's content. Using meta data to index pages was found to be less than reliable, however, because the webmaster's choice of keywords in the meta tag could potentially be an inaccurate representation of the site's actual content. Inaccurate, incomplete, and inconsistent data in meta tags could and did cause pages to rank for irrelevant searches. Web content providers also manipulated a number of attributes within the HTML source of a page in an attempt to rank well in search engines.

By relying so much on factors such as keyword density which were exclusively within a webmaster's control, early search engines suffered from abuse and ranking manipulation. To provide better results to their users, search engines had to adapt to ensure their results pages showed the most relevant search results, rather than unrelated pages stuffed with numerous keywords by unscrupulous webmasters. Since the success and popularity of a search engine is determined by its ability to produce the most relevant results to any given search, allowing those results to be false would turn users to find other search sources. Search engines responded by developing more complex ranking algorithms, taking into account additional factors that were more difficult for webmasters to manipulate. Graduate students at Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, developed "Backrub," a search engine that relied on a mathematical algorithm to rate the prominence of web pages. The number calculated by the algorithm, PageRank, is a function of the quantity and strength of inbound links. PageRank estimates the likelihood that a given page will be reached by a web user who randomly surfs the web, and follows links from one page to another. In effect, this means that some links are stronger than others, as a higher PageRank page is more likely to be reached by the random surfer.

Page and Brin founded Google in 1998. Google attracted a loyal following among the growing number of Internet users, who liked its simple design. Off-page factors (such as PageRank and hyperlink analysis) were considered as well as on-page factors (such as keyword frequency, meta tags, headings, links and site structure) to enable Google to avoid the kind of manipulation seen in search engines that only considered on-page factors for their rankings. Although PageRank was more difficult to game, webmasters had already developed link building tools and schemes to influence the Inktomi search engine, and these methods proved similarly applicable to gaming PageRank. Many sites focused on exchanging, buying, and selling links, often on a massive scale. Some of these schemes, or link farms, involved the creation of thousands of sites for the sole purpose of link spamming.

By 2004, search engines had incorporated a wide range of undisclosed factors in their ranking algorithms to reduce the impact of link manipulation. In June 2007, The New York Times' Saul Hansell stated Google ranks sites using more than 200 different signals. The leading search engines, Google, Bing, and Yahoo, do not disclose the algorithms they use to rank pages. Some SEO practitioners have studied different approaches to search engine optimization, and have shared their personal opinions Patents related to search engines can provide information to better understand search engines.

In 2005, Google began personalizing search results for each user. Depending on their history of previous searches, Google crafted results for logged in users. In 2008, Bruce Clay said that "ranking is dead" because of personalized search. He opined that it would become meaningless to discuss how a website ranked, because its rank would potentially be different for each user and each search.

In 2007, Google announced a campaign against paid links that transfer PageRank. On June 15, 2009, Google disclosed that they had taken measures to mitigate the effects of PageRank sculpting by use of the nofollow attribute on links. Matt Cutts, a well-known software engineer at Google, announced that Google Bot would no longer treat nofollowed links in the same way, in order to prevent SEO service providers from using nofollow for PageRank sculpting. As a result of this change the usage of nofollow leads to evaporation of pagerank. In order to avoid the above, SEO engineers developed alternative techniques that replace nofollowed tags with obfuscated Javascript and thus permit PageRank sculpting. Additionally several solutions have been suggested that include the usage of iframes, Flash and Javascript.

In December 2009, Google announced it would be using the web search history of all its users in order to populate search results.

Google Instant, real-time-search, was introduced in late 2010 in an attempt to make search results more timely and relevant. Historically site administrators have spent months or even years optimizing a website to increase search rankings. With the growth in popularity of social media sites and blogs the leading engines made changes to their algorithms to allow fresh content to rank quickly within the search results.

In February 2011, Google announced the "Panda update, which penalizes websites containing content duplicated from other websites and sources. Historically websites have copied content from one another and benefited in search engine rankings by engaging in this practice, however Google implemented a new system which punishes sites whose content is not unique.

In April 2012, Google launched the Google Penguin update the goal of which was to penalise websites that used manipulative techniques to improve their rankings on the search engine.

What is waoIndia?
waoIndia is a new innovative, international and FREE English based service that allows advertisers to reach thousands of potential customers by displaying their ad on our, "View Ads" page.

Signup Here
How does it work?
You view websites in a few seconds via the "View Ads" page. Once the few seconds is up, you'll either get a green tick sign or a red 'X'. The green tick sign means you've earned money for the visit and the 'X' means you have not earned money for the visit. You'll get red X's when you have more than one website from the "View Ads" page open. When this happens, you get no credit.
Can other people in my household join?
As long as they each have their own computer, AlertPay/Paypal account and e-mail address. As far as cheating goes, our software detects users who create fictitious accounts and use the same computer so if someone else in your household wants to join and will legitimately use their account; you shouldn't be flagged for abuse.
Can I have more than one account?
No. There is no need to maintain more than one account. If you've lost your login information, you can request to have it sent to your e-mail address. If you are caught with more then one account open (we have a very strict auditing process before payments are sent) your account(s) will be terminated, your ip address(es) will be banned and you will not receive any earnings.
My network, school or ISP all use the same IP addresses, can I join?
Yes, this is fine. The same general rule applies from the previous question.
How much money can I make?
There is no limit in the amount of websites you visit or referrals that you obtain. Your earning possibilities are virtually endless.
How do I refer others?
Use your unique referral code found within the user area "My Stats".
I can't see any ads!
If you see no ad links on the "View Ads" page but you DO see stats on the right hand side then you need to disable all antivirus and antispyware/adware programs. If this doesn't work, try cleaning your cache, temp files, cookies, etc. If you're still having problems after all of that, try changing or updating your browser.
My stats aren't updating!
This is either because your browser is saving the page in it's cache or you're not waiting for the dollar sign to appear after the timer is complete. Try cleaning your cache, temp files, cookies, etc. If you're still having problems after all of that, try changing or updating your browser.
I keep getting "Invalid code entered." when I try to register or login!
First, make sure you are correctly typing in the verification code. If you are typing in the correct code and still having problems then it's something to do with your browser caching the previously used session image. Try cleaning your cache, temp files, cookies, etc. If you're still having problems after all of that, try changing or updating your browser.
How often are the statistics updated?
Stats are updated immediately.
How do I get paid?
If you have the minimum amount accumulated, you can click on your account balance within your stats area and it will submit your request. Currently, we only make payments via Paypal/AlertPay/Check. We will soon be using other methods of payment.
When do I get paid?

20 Good ways to Boost your Website Traffic; Part 2

20 Good ways to Boost your Website Traffic; Part 2
Just like the Part 1 of this post which had some important basic things needed to promote a new website, below are the other half things which i would like to discuss:

11. Forum Signature
Mostly the online discussion forums hold a high PR value of which you can take full advantage by adding up your link url as your forum signature. Lets suppose you run a “Cars Review Website or blog”, now all you need to look for a popular CAR/Auto vehical related Discussion forum website, and join in as a member.  Once you have done this, now setup your Forum Signature containing your own website URL. This gives you many back links, which can divert good traffic as well as search value.

12. Create Groups
All search engines inlcuding Google, Yahoo or Bing have their own group services (just like Google Buzz) where you can setup a Group of people with similar mind set. (.e.g all Gadget interested people considering you have a Gadget selling/reviewing website).  Now, make a group and share all your related stuff maintaining your own social circle.
13. Buy Links or Traffic
Considering you have little money to invest, this could help a lot in buying some good Link Backs from Quality PR5+ websites which could result in High Google Page Rank of your own website, and also get you good traffic directly from a website. BUT Make sure that you should buy Targetted traffic which is the most important thing. If you have a Cars/Auto related website, than you should get a backlink from a car/auto related website itself, otherwise it wont be of any good use.
14. Link Exchange
Dont have money to invest to buy traffic ? Than probably Link exchange is more viable solution for you. All you need is to contact other webmasters (maybe friend webmasters) or you can contact any webmaster through their website contact form (but keep it mind, only those websites with Link exchange with you which will have Same traffic as of yours). Because big websites will not link exchange with a small traffic website, obviously. So keep this is mind, but link exchanges with small websites can make a small website get big traffic at some point.

15. Traffic Exchange Programs
Do you know that you can get some traffic for free from Traffic Exchange programs, which are completely free. Today there are a lot of websites with huge traffic mainly sourced from Traffic exchange website such as: MGID. Yes join MGID, put their Photo WIDGET on your website. Now when a visitor on your website clicks on their Widget, in return you will get 2 visitors back to your website from theirs. For more details goto: http://usr.mgid.com/demo/

16. PPC Advertising Program
Pay per click advertising can be very very usefull in getting targetted traffic to your website, but on other hand can be very costly for those who have limited advertising budget. However i have seen and heard of success stories from people who did advertised on Facebook through there PPC advertising program, and got quality traffic in return.

17. Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking can get you quick backlinks. Social bookmarking sites like Digg, Twitter, Reddit and Stumble will help you get many quick backlinks. Try this as well.

18. Squidoo and HubPages
These high PR web 2.0 websites can do a lot to increase the traffic of website or blogs. You simply need to go to Squidoo or Hubpages, signup for an account, and write in a 500 words article containing 1 or 2 back links in those articles back to your Main website. This way you can get some traffic as well as search PR.

19. Press Releases Submission / Distribution
Get your website promoted by Press Release distribution networks such as prweb.com (though this is not free) but will get you huge exposure throughout the world even through Print media.

20. Free or Paid Classified
Advertise your website or product through Free classified websites or paid ones. Google this out for more details…

My reason to write this article was to just throw in a simple reminder of any points or ways which i could remember could help you get some traffic. Unfortunately i do not have enough time to throw in deep details all these 20 ways to boost website traffic,  but all i did was quick details to be pointed out, so that anything might click your mind and remind you something important which you could have missed otherwise.
