Ministry of Science & ICT,
Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh and D.Net jointly
organised the Award giving ceremony of National Digital Innovation Award
2011. The Gala Event was held on July 07 at 6 pm at Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre, Bijoy Shoroni, Tejgoan, Dhaka.
Honorable Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal
Abdul Muhith was present as the Chief Guest. The programme was
presiding over by Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, PS-1 to Prime Minister and
National Project Director of Access to Information Programme, Prime
Minister’s Office. Dr. Rafiqul Islam Ph.D, Secretary, ICT Division,
Ministry of Science & ICT, Government of the Peoples’ Republic of
Bangladesh; Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Eminent educationist and
Chairperson, Jury Board of National Digital Innovation Award 2011 and
Dr. Toufic Ahmad Choudhury, Chairperson, Governing Body of D.Net was
present at the occasion.
Access to Information Programme (A2I),
Prime Minister’s Office was the principal partner of this contest. The
Daily Prothom Alo, The Daily Star and ATN News were the organizing
partners. Lemon24.com and comjagat.com was the media and online partner
respectively. Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) and World Summit
Award were the Knowledge and Global Partner respectively.

Ltd, Association of Mobile Telecom Operators in Bangladesh (AMTOB) and
Mr. Nazib Uddin Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Director, National Bank Ltd.
It is to be mentioned that, this contest
has been organized for the second time in Bangladesh. It was named as
“E-content and ICT for Development Award” organised in 2010.
